Week 4 Fantasy Review

Injury Concerns

David Montgomery

It appears as though Montgomery avoided a “serious” knee injury on Sunday, but he will miss 4-5 weeks with a knee sprain. In his absence, look for the Bears to turn to former Super Bowl SHOULD HAVE BEEN MVP Damien Williams. He is a must add in all leagues.

Logan Thomas

Thomas left Washington’s game with a hamstring injury and should be considered week to week.

Joe Mixon

Mixon suffered a sprained ankle on Thursday and is day to day, according to Bengals HC Zac Taylor. However, it seems as though he may miss Week 5’s game against the Packers.

Teddy Bridgewater

Teddy Two Gloves left with a concussion and is questionable to play in Week 5 against the Steelers. Drew Lock was spectacularly bad in his absence.

Jimmy Garappolo

Garappolo did not return after halftime for the 49ers and could miss a couple of games with a calf injury. It’s officially Trey Lance season in San Francisco.

Will Fuller

Fuller broke a finger and did not return for the Dolphins. He is considered week to week. Jaylen Waddle is now WR1 in Miami.

Tony Jones Jr.

Jones suffered an ankle injury in the Saints’ loss to the Giants and was carted off. He is expected to miss a significant amount of time.

Surprising Stars

Cordarelle Patterson

What Arthur Smith has done with Patterson is nothing short of amazing. He’s the team’s best running back, wide receiver and tight end right now. Absolutely destroying in fantasy right now and doesn’t look like he’s slowing down any time soon.

Taylor Heinicke

STUD. I know it was Atlanta but Heinicke is a baller and is tough as nails. He’s a perfect QB2 in SuperFlex.

C.J. Uzomah

Without Tee Higgins, Uzomah turned into Joe Burrow’s third target. We’ll see if his role is still fantasy relevant with Higgins on the way back.

Randall Cobb

Did Aaron Rodgers finally get a second receiver? Cobb is worth monitoring in all leagues and I would probably pick him up.

Trey Lance

It’s not surprising that Lance was a fantasy stud once he entered the game, but rather than he’s even playing in the first place. Looks like Jimmy G may be out a couple of weeks, so Lance is definitely a top 10 fantasy QB as a starter.

Confusing Usage

CeeDee Lamb

Nothing to be concerned about long term here, but it is worth noting that the Cowboys are gashing teams on the ground and may not have to utilize their passing game as much as we expected. Also, the Dallas tight ends are very involved in the red zone passing game, which could limit Lamb’s long term upside in 2021. I still think Lamb is in for a massive season.

Mike Williams

Only one catch for Williams, who has been a revelation this season. Again, I don’t have any big concerns here. The Chargers were running the ball well and didn’t need to get Williams the ball. He should be fine long term.

JuJu Smith-Schuster

The Steelers passing game with Ben Roethlisberger is a nightmare right now. I would normally say this is a good time to buy in on all three Steelers’ receivers, but I think this is a giant stay away right now. It might be broken with Big Ben.

Travis Kelce

Not concerned one bit here, just funny to see Kelce with only 4 catches in a game in which KC put up 40+ points.

Damien Harris

Only 4 rushing attempts and 2 receptions for Harris on Sunday night versus Tampa Bay. I’m starting to get concerned about his role, even though James White is out for the season. He just doesn’t look right the last two weeks.
