Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2021 Fantasy Preview

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2020 Record: 11-5

2021 Over/Under: o/u 11.5

2021 Divison Odds : -235

2021 Super Bowl Odds: +500

As you prepare for the fantasy season, whether it be your home league, a big money squad or with us at Champions Round, we want you to be as prepared as possible heading into the season. And most of all we want to see you win!

The defending champs return all 22 starters. There’s a reason Tampa Bay is favored to bring home the title again in 2021. There’s not much to talk about here. With Tom Brady, the ridiculous volume of talent on offense and a young and loaded defense, the Buccaneers are well positioned to coast through the regular season with the best record in the league.

Champions Round “JUICE” Projections

2021 Expected Record: 11-6

2021 Expected Points Per Game: 27.8

2021 Expected Points Allowed Per Game: 21.7

Tom Brady - Rank: QB10

JUICE Projections: 418-643 Passing, 65% Completion, 4722 Passing Yds., 37 TD, 12 INT; 25 Rushing Yds, 2 Rush TD

Brady is 44. At some point the wheels are going to fall off, but it could be when he’s a grandfather. The dude is unstoppable. He’s the GOAT for a reason. With a great offensive line and three all world receivers, Brady should have another big year. He has a ceiling in fantasy, but is still my QB10. If people don’t reach for him and you wait on QB, you could do worse.

Leonard Fournette - Rank: RB36

JUICE Projections: 144 carries, 637 Rushing Yds, 7 Rush TD; 22 receptions, 141 Receiving Yds

Ronald Jones - Rank: RB32

JUICE Projections: 178 carries, 774 Rushing Yds, 6 Rush TD; 24 receptions, 152 Receiving Yds, 1 Rec. TD

Giovani Bernard - Rank: RB70

JUICE Projections: 24 carries, 100 Rushing Yds, 1 Rush TD; 24 receptions, 159 Receiving Yds, 2 Rec. TD

There’s no reason to buy in on any of the Bucs running backs. It’s a true committee. Jones had a good year in 2020, but Fournette dominated in the playoffs. Bernard should be a third down back, but won’t get enough volume to make him a James White type in PPR leagues. If you get value on one of them, sure. But don’t reach here.

Mike Evans - Rank: WR17

JUICE Projections: 72 receptions, 989 Receiving Yds, 10 Rec. TD

Evans is rock solid and should have another double digit TD season. He may not see quite the volume we’re used to seeing, but the Bucs are going to throw it a lot to their top three receivers. I don’t think he’s a WR1 any more, but he’s an elite WR2.

Chris Godwin - Rank: WR28

JUICE Projections: 63 receptions, 840 Receiving Yds, 8 Rec. TD

Godwin is the player who may get squeezed out in terms of overall volume due to Evans and AB. However, he’s still an elite receiver who will be a major factor in the Bucs offense. I think he’s being a hair over drafted right now.

Antonio Brown - Rank: WR37

JUICE Projections: 62 receptions, 811 Receiving Yds, 5 Rec. TD

I’m probably higher on Antonio brown than the rest of the industry. With a full offseason and no off the field distractions I think we could see glimpses of the old AB.

Rob Gronkowski - Rank: TE18

JUICE Projections: 42 receptions, 511 Receiving Yds, 4 Rec. TD

Cameron Brate - Rank: TE43

JUICE Projections: 29 receptions, 293 Receiving Yds, 1 Rec. TD

O.J. Howard - Rank: TE25

JUICE Projections: 33 receptions, 404 Receiving Yds, 3 Rec. TD

I don’t know which tight end is going to get the majority of the volume in 2021 and it could be spread evenly across all three. Given the weapons at receiver, I would have a tough time buying in on any of these three. If I had to choose, I may go with O.J. Howard. I think he could be a real red zone threat in 2021.

TL;DR 2021 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • Brady is still as good as ever
  • Fade all Bucs RBs and TEs
  • Buy all Bucs WRs
