"Super Bowl LV: Player Props! "

By: Jason Gold

Welcome to Super Bowl Week! It’s been a long season and we’ve somehow made it to the Big Game. Our reward is we get to watch Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes duke it out on Sunday.

While we love betting on the actual outcome of the game, Player Props are some of the most fun bets you can make this week, especially for hard core fantasy players.

Want to get in on the action? Here’s some of our best bets for the week:

🎙 Listen to the Champions Round Podcast 🎙

Tom Brady over 39.5 pass attempts

It seems obvious that at some point the Bucs will be trailing and will need to turn to their passing game. Brady had 41 pass attempts the last time these two teams met up and I wouldn’t expect the Bucs to throw less on Sunday.

Antonio Brown over 37.5 receiving yards

Brown should be a good target for Brady, especially if Tampa is playing from behind. This is a low total for such a prolific receiver.

Mecole Hardman under 28.5 receiving yards

Hardman has been a pleasant surprise thus far in the playoffs and may have a bigger role if Demarcus Robinson is unable to play due to COVID protocols. However, I expect Sammy Watkins to be the third receiver in the Chiefs offense and I’m not sure Hardman is going to see more than 4 targets.

Darrell Williams under 2.5 receptions

Williams has been the featured back thus far in the playoffs for Kansas City, which would lead you to believe the over 2.5 may be in play. However, with two weeks off I would venture to guess Clyde Edwards-Helaire will have a bigger role and Le’Veon Bell may take some snaps, as well. Less time on the field equals less targets in the passing game. Simple as that.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire over 30.5 rushing yards

There’s part of me that believes the Chiefs will have more of a ball control offense than we normally expect from them. This is partially due to their offensive line issues, but it’s also to keep the ball away from Tom Brady and disrupt his rhythm. If the Chiefs decide to run the ball more than usual, I expect the rookie to get the bulk of the carries, hence the over.

Patrick Mahomes over 19.5 rushing yards

Mahomes is a great scrambler and given the Chiefs’ offensive line issues, he may be forced out of the pocket more than usual. Given that, I expect Mahomes to have way over 19.5 rushing yards and this may be my best bet of the Super Bowl.

Enjoy the game on Sunday!
