Seattle Seahawks 2021 Fantasy Preview

Seattle Seahawks

2020 Record: 12-4

2021 Over/Under: o/u 9.5

2021 Divison Odds : +225

2021 Super Bowl Odds: +1800

As you prepare for the fantasy season, whether it be your home league, a big money squad or with us at Champions Round, we want you to be as prepared as possible heading into the season. And most of all we want to see you win!

The Seattle Seahawks are being disrespected in the market! Yes, they play in one of the toughest divisions in football. Yes, they could finish in third in the NFC West. But they still have Russell Wilson! And they have a new offensive coordinator in Shane Waldron who should maximize Wilson’s abilities.

The defense is a question mark, but they have enough big name talent to get back, along with a good defensive coaching staff. This is a team that should win 10 games at worst. The offense should be dynamic enough to drag them to 10 wins, even if the defense struggles.

Champions Round “JUICE” Projections

2021 Expected Record: 10-7

2021 Expected Points Per Game: 28.2

2021 Expected Points Allowed Per Game: 24.1

Russell Wilson - Rank: QB5

JUICE Projections: 415-610 Passing, 68% Completion, 4729 Passing Yds., 38 TD, 12 INT; 446 Rushing Yds, 4 Rush TD

Wilson should have another spectacular season through the air. There’s no reason to believe any sort of drop off in play is imminent, despite the fact that he went cold during the second half of the 2020 season. I think a QB1 finish is within his range of outcomes.

Chris Carson - Rank: RB27

JUICE Projections: 144 carries, 648 Rushing Yds, 8 Rush TD; 29 receptions, 208 Receiving Yds, 2 Rec. TD

Rashaad Penny - Rank: RB50

JUICE Projections: 107 carries, 471 Rushing Yds, 4 Rush TD; 20 receptions, 142 Receiving Yds, 1 Rec. TD

I am significantly lower on Carson than the rest of the industry and believe that Penny has a chance to be a real player in the Seahawks backfield. Perhaps this take is wrong. If you want to invest in Carson as your RB2, that’s a fine play.

Penny is a nice mid to late round RB who, if he stays healthy, could have a bigger role than his ADP projects.

D.K. Metcalf - Rank: WR3

JUICE Projections: 84 receptions, 1247 Receiving Yds, 12 Rec. TD

I have Metcalf projected as my WR3 overall and a WR1 finish is within his range of outcomes. If Lockett is healthy, Metcalf is infinitely better. If you’re taking Metcalf you better hope Lockett is healthy.

Tyler Lockett - Rank: WR20

JUICE Projections: 94 receptions, 1009 Receiving Yds, 7 Rec. TD

Lockett is perpetually underrated and the Seahawks offense isn’t nearly as effective when he’s off the field. He’s a perfect WR2 on all fantasy teams.

Gerald Everett - Rank: TE7

JUICE Projections: 64 receptions, 672 Receiving Yds, 5 Rec. TD

Everett comes over with Waldron from the Rams and has proven to be a capable tight end in the NFL when given volume. He’s going to get that this season and has a chance to have a true breakout season in 2021. I am leading the Everett hype train.

TL;DR 2021 Seattle Seahawks

  • Russell Wilson top 2 QB upside
  • Gerald Everett is the TE I want outside of the top 6 “stars”
  • DK Metcalf could be WR1
  • When do the wheels fall off for Chris Carson? Worth paying attention to.

Thanks for reading and good luck in your drafts! Next Up: the Tennessee Titans!
