Lions vs Packers Monday Night Football Best Bets

R-E-L-A-X….the mantra rolls on for the Green Bay Packers as they look to overcome their season opening 38-3 defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. There’s no doubt Aaron Rodgers and company have some work to do to become the Super Bowl contender we all believe them to be. But what a better spot to get back on track than on Monday Night Football against the lowly Detroit Lions.

For the Lions, this entire season is simply about building a foundation and developing an identity under new coach Dan Campbell. Despite being down four scores in the opener against the 49ers, the Lions fought back in a major way in the fourth quarter. That will likely be a theme this season as the Lions should be playing from behind most of the season.

The Packers should roll in this one and I expect them to put up a ton of points against the Lions. They’re out to prove a point. I really like the Packers first half -7 line and expect them to come out swinging. I am hesitant to bet the full game line of -12 because I think the Lions are going to be 4th quarter machines this season. I expect Jared Goff to find success through the air in the last frame and bring the Lions back, at least a little bit.

In the end, Green Bay gets it done as notches their first victory of the season.
