Green Bay Packers 2021 Fantasy Preview
Green Bay Packers
2020 Record: 13-3
2021 Over/Under: o/u 10
2021 Divison Odds : -180
2021 Super Bowl Odds: +900
As you prepare for the fantasy season, whether it be your home league, a big money squad or with us at Champions Round, we want you to be as prepared as possible heading into the season. And most of all we want to see you win!
Cue the Last Dance music. This could be the last ride in Green Bay for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are built for another championship run. Can the Cheeseheads get it done in 2021? I think so. In fact, they’re my pick to win the Super Bowl this season in Los Angeles. Talk about a Hollywood ending.
Rodgers has all of his weapons back in town, everyone is healthy and the vibes seem to be shockingly good in Green Bay. The Packers have an all-time great QB, the best receiver in the NFL and a stud running back. They also have a great young coach in Matt LaFleur and a defense that ranked as one of the top units in the NFL last year. If everyone is healthy, this is a scary team once again.
Champions Round “JUICE” Projections
2021 Expected Record: 12-5
2021 Expected Points Per Game: 29.8
2021 Expected Points Allowed Per Game: 22.5
Aaron Rodgers - Rank: QB7
JUICE Projections: 402-618 Passing, 65% Completion, 4581 Passing Yds., 38 TD, 7 INT; 173 Rushing Yds, 3 Rush TD
The likelihood of Rodgers repeating his 2020 performance is really low. That was an all-time season. But still, Aaron Rodgers is still Aaron freaking Rodgers. I expect him to have another incredible season and be in the MVP mix. In fantasy his floor is lower than some others due to his lack of rushing, but he’s firmly my QB7.
Aaron Jones - Rank: RB5
JUICE Projections: 234 carries, 1147 Rushing Yds, 12 Rush TD; 50 receptions, 368 Receiving Yds, 6 Rec. TD
I am very high on Jones this season and believe he can recreate his 2020 season with ease. He’s my RB5 and I would choose him 5th overall in all fantasy redraft leagues.
AJ Dillon - Rank: RB40
JUICE Projections: 127 carries, 565 Rushing Yds, 5 Rush TD; 21 receptions, 148 Receiving Yds, 1 Rec. TD
Dillon is a good player, but I don’t see the volume for him to be anything more than a top end handcuff. If Jones gets injured it’s a different ballgame, but I don’t think Dillon will come close to the 690.5 rushing yards that Vegas expects.
Davante Adams - Rank: WR1
JUICE Projections: 109 receptions, 1303 Receiving Yds, 10 Rec. TD
It’s Davante freaking Adams. You know what you’re getting. He’s a first round pick in all redraft leagues and the true WR1.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling - Rank: WR66
JUICE Projections: 47 receptions, 579 Receiving Yds, 4 Rec. TD
Allen Lazard - Rank: WR84
JUICE Projections: 34 receptions, 528 Receiving Yds, 3 Rec. TD
Randall Cobb - Rank: WR114
JUICE Projections: 33 receptions, 476 Receiving Yds, 3 Rec. TD
Which of these three receivers becomes the No. 2 in Green Bay? The team is high on MVS and believe he will be the guy. But he hasn’t shown the ability to develop into a high volume player. I’m fading all three of these guys until further notice.
Robert Tonyan - Rank: TE12
JUICE Projections: 46 receptions, 523 Receiving Yds, 5 Rec. TD
Tonyan was incredible in 2020, but I don’t see a second year of that sort of production. He was too efficient and the likelihood of him seeing the same red zone production is very low. There are better Tight Ends to target around his ADP.
TL;DR 2021 Green Bay Packers
- Rodgers won’t have a 2020 season again, but he’s still Aaron Rodgers.
- Aaron Jones upside is still high. I would bet big on him and Davante Adams
- Fade Robert Tonyan and AJ Dillon
- Who will the be 2nd receiver in GB?
Thanks for reading and good luck in your drafts! Last Up: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
