Big Board Showdown Mock Draft 2.0
By: Jason Gold
Champions Round is bringing back Big Board Showdown for the 2021 NFL Draft!
Big Board Showdown is the only fantasy game dedicated exclusively to the NFL Draft. We’re back this year and the game mode is better than ever and it’s coming soon. We can’t wait to open up leagues to everyone.
For our first mock for 2021, we decided to go without trades. We’ll also do that for 2.0, but get ready because the TRADES ARE COMING!
Here’s our Mock Draft 2.0!
Here are some highlights:
2. New York Jets - Zach Wilson, QB, BYU
Wilson is the consensus No. 2 QB in the 2021 NFL Draft. Some teams may be higher on Justin Fields or Trey Lance than Wilson, but we expect the former BYU QB to replace Sam Darnold with the Jets. The Jets could keep it going with Sam Darnold, who is still only 23 years old. But let’s be real here. New York has an entirely new regime than the one who drafted Darnold, they can get a nice haul for the former USC QB and they can reset their cap by taking a cost controlled QB. I think they’ll end up taking Wilson and trading Darnold to either the 49ers, Panthers or Broncos.
12. San Francisco 49ers - DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama
The 49ers are not in the market for a wide receiver. They’ve taken Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk in the past two drafts and both players are quality NFL wide receivers, at a minimum. However, if Smith is somehow available at 12 I don’t think John Lynch or Kyle Shanahan will spend much time waiting to turn in the card. Smith would be a dynamic playmaker in Shanahan’s offense.
13. Los Angeles Chargers - Alijah Vera-Tucker, OL, USC
The Chargers are going to take the best offensive lineman available when it comes to their pick at 13 overall. If there’s an early run on offensive lineman, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them trade up to get their future left tackle much like the Buccaneers did in the 2020 NFL Draft. Vera-Tucker is a solid offensive lineman who can play multiple positions. He would be a great fit for the Chargers.
24. Pittsburgh Steelers - Najee Harris, RB, Alabama
The Steelers need a running back and Harris is the sort of tough nosed runner that Pittsburgh fans would love to have. Harris really improved as a receiver during his time at Alabama and should be able to contribute right away on all three downs.
